Jon Harper is a passionate communicator of the gospel of Jesus Christ and the founder of The WORD Ministries, based just outside of Houston, Texas. Known for his authentic, energetic, and Scripture-centered preaching, Jon carries a deep conviction that God’s Word is alive, powerful, and still transforming lives today. When asked why he is an evangelist, his answer is simple: “God’s WORD is alive and here to change lives.”

Before stepping fully into ministry, Jon played college football at Louisiana Tech, an experience that shaped his discipline, perseverance, and understanding of teamwork. He later spent ten years coaching football at Covenant Christian School, where he led teams with purpose, integrity, and faith—culminating in a state championship. These years on the field and sidelines continue to influence how Jon communicates the gospel with clarity, intensity, and a heart for developing people, not just winning games.

Jon believes that lasting life change comes through one thing alone: the Word of God. That conviction compels him to preach the gospel boldly and unashamedly at churches, camps, conferences, schools, and events of every size. He is married to his wife Teresa, and together they are the proud parents of three children—Lexi, Wade, and Dylan.
